About us
ENoRM - the European Network of River Museums – is an open, non-profit group of museums and collections, working towards safeguarding cultural heritage along the waterways.
Our Mission
Our most important issue is to protect tangible and intangible, cultural and technical river and canal heritage. We want to raise public awareness on the importance of this issue and strengthen the links between waterways museums by disseminating information about river and canal heritage and institutions, developing cooperation and contacts, sharing and exchanging professional knowledge, experience, good and bad practices among the partners. We wish to help them to tell stories about waterways and ships combining past, present and future, as well as support museums endangered in any way.
Actions
Our activities are based on annual meetings and seminars, followed by publicly accessible reports. We have prepared a poster exhibition about historic ships from our collections, which can be presented in each of the museums. We exchange our publications. Informations about ENoRM will be available not only in the public spaces of museums, but above all on the updated website. It will include e.g. informations about our museumsand a database of the historic ships that we are restoring and operating. News will be published on social media.
